A Legal Job, Not a DIY Job

Connecting a gas appliance is one of the few household jobs the law is absolutely clear about: it must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer. A poorly connected cooker can leak gas into your kitchen or starve the burners - and retailers' delivery teams will usually leave the appliance unconnected for exactly this reason.

We install freestanding gas cookers, built-in hobs, dual-fuel ranges, and LPG appliances across Sussex. Every installation includes a gas tightness test, a check that the kitchen's ventilation meets requirements, and a full working test of every burner before we leave.

Bought a new kitchen appliance and need the old one taken away? We disconnect and cap off old appliances safely too.

What Every Installation Includes

Safe Connection

Appliance connected with the correct hose or rigid pipework for its type and position.

Gas Tightness Test

The installation tested for leaks before and after connection.

Ventilation Check

Kitchen ventilation checked against the appliance's requirements.

Stability Fittings

Safety chain or stability bracket fitted to freestanding cookers as required.

Full Burner Test

Every burner, grill, and oven function tested and demonstrated working.

Certification

Documentation of the installation - essential for landlords and useful for everyone.

Cooker Installation for Landlords

Any gas cooker or hob in a rental property falls under the annual landlord gas safety check. If we install an appliance in your rental, we can update your CP12 certificate at the same time, keeping your records complete with a single visit.

Disconnections and Replacements

Replacing gas with induction? We safely disconnect and cap the gas supply so your electrician can take over. Swapping like-for-like? We'll disconnect the old appliance, connect the new one, and take the old unit away if you need us to. Either way, the gas work is tested and certificated.

Gas Cooker & Hob Installation FAQs

How much does gas cooker installation cost?

A straightforward connection where the gas supply is already in place is one of our most affordable jobs. If pipework needs extending or altering, we'll quote a fixed price before booking.

How long does it take?

A standard connection takes around an hour, including testing. Hobs and range cookers can take a little longer depending on access.

Can the appliance retailer not connect it for me?

Delivery teams generally aren't Gas Safe registered, so they'll leave the appliance unconnected. It's illegal for anyone who isn't Gas Safe registered to connect a gas appliance - that includes confident DIYers.

Do you install LPG cookers?

Yes, we install LPG appliances as well as natural gas - common in rural properties around Sussex. Make sure the appliance is LPG-compatible or has the correct conversion kit, and we'll handle the rest.

Do you supply cookers as well?

We fit appliances you've purchased rather than supplying them - it lets you shop around for the exact model you want. We're happy to check the specification before you buy if you want a second opinion on suitability.
