The Situation
We were called out to a property in Lewes after the homeowners reported their boiler was behaving erratically, cutting out mid-cycle and failing to heat the home properly. They had been living with the problem for a few weeks, assuming it was a minor fault.
When our Gas Safe engineer arrived and carried out a full inspection, the reality was far more serious. The boiler was leaking carbon monoxide an odourless, colourless gas that can be fatal in enclosed spaces. The flue seal had deteriorated, allowing combustion gases to escape into the property rather than being safely vented outside.
We had no choice but to condemn the boiler immediately under Gas Safe regulations. Our Solution
